Kota dan perilaku parafilia dalam Sentimentalisme Calon Mayat: tubuh dan resistensi protagonis terhadap kota kapitalis Orde Baru

Penyimpangan perilaku para protagonis dalam Sentimentalisme Calon Mayat (2023) merupakan bagian tak terpisahkan dari sistem kota yang mekanis dan kapitalistis. Perilaku-perilaku aneh tokoh-tokoh dalam cerpen Sony Karsono adalah sebuah bentuk perlawanan warga kota terhadap lingkungan sosial yang mekanis dan kapitalistis. Resistensi aktan-aktan cerita menjadikan tubuh sebagai medium pembebasan kungkungan kota yang serba materialistis, membatasi, dan menindas. Artikel ini berfokus pada perilaku menyimpang karakter-karakter utama cerita demi menghadirkan pengalaman esensial kehidupan kota yang unik, tipikal, karakteristik urban yang dibangun secara kapitalis. Protagonis yang bersetubuh dengan mayat, kawin dengan boneka, menikmati bunuh diri, onani pada saat dengar lagu kebangsaan, menggubah sajak-sajak seks vulgar perkotaan ditengarai sebagai perilaku parafilia. Memanfaatkan paradigma David Harvey mengenai situasi spasial kota, artikel ini memahami jika pelbagai perilaku protagonis yang parafilis adalah sarana untuk melihat kehidupan manusia kota yang ditopang kapitalisme. Perilaku parafilia tokoh-tokoh utama cerpen diletakkan dalam kerangka perlawanan penghuni kota terhadap habitat sosial yang kapitalis. Sistem kota yang mekanis dan kapitalistis sengaja diciptakan oleh pihak rezim kuasa yang ingin menciptakan status quo demi mempertahankan kekuasaan dan dominasi. Cerpen-cerpen dalam Sentimentalisme Calon Mayat menawarkan pembacaan kota secara berbeda agar terlepas dari cengkeraman kuasa kota yang menindas.
