Abstract

Community women in historical Yogyakarta kauman very interesting. In the complex lives of their social sides in which the statuses, classes or factions, they are the wives of the Yogyakarta  pamethakan king courtiers, who is also a batik craftsmen.
With the progress and development of batik that extends either from the process or use, at first only for the royal family and the process was only done by the daughters of the palace, the people closest to the domicile of the wife of the palace courtiers pamethakan kauman also make batik as conducted by the court daughters make batik craft fine.
